Ashley's Story

Ashley Kulp was diagnosed with a rare and very aggressive cervical cancer at the age of 29 when she was 29 weeks pregnant with her first child. Experts at Johns Hopkins Hospital were able to save her life and the life of her unborn son by performing a C-section at 30 weeks gestation and a radical hysterectomy and debulking procedure.

Reunite and Reignite: Stride and Thrive 2022

The annual Below the Belt Stride and Thrive event has celebrated six remarkably successful years, including two virtual events during the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, due to increasing COVID-19 cases and changes in Johns Hopkins event policies, we must post-pone the in-person event scheduled for June 26. The good news is we are continuing the "Reunite and Reignite: Stride and Thrive" virtual campaign for below the belt cancers now through September 30, 2022 which aims to reunite and reignite our community, strengthening our resolve to CARE for gynecologic cancer patients, their caregivers, family and friends through connection, advocacy, research and education.
